Very unusual "Junior target rifle" based on the well-known Mauser action: this rifle has a presentation plaque (Officer from the Arsenal) to the r.h.s. of the butt.

This WAS a Rook Rifle, converted to .410 after the 1920 Firearms Act and now re-lined into a usable calibre, suitable for Gallery rifle up to 200y.

B.S.A., retailed by A G PARKER: Top grade Martini target rifle, DEWAR rifle type; .22"LR, #A24683 [PHOTO]
The DEWAR was a special order "top of the line" product, originally developed for ATC Hale of Parker-Hale. It cost 17 guineas when a standard 12/15 was 5 !
This particular rifle is (as far as I can research it) a Prototype --- the "Production models" were based on the Model 15, with the rearsight dovetailed onto a square-backed receiver.

NOTE --- this rifle also chambers the .222RF CB* Cap. (*CB = Conical Breech -- a more accurate version of the BB -- Bulleted Breech -- cap.)
One of my PET HATES --- that "they" refer to BB Guns as "Ball-Bearing Guns" when in fact it is a shot size of about .17" diameter!
