"TRANTER:
5th Model (Treble Action)percussion revolver;
80bore, #21080T
This is the RAREST pattern Tranter revolver -- just
over 30 known: it can be fired 3 ways -- -
(1) cocked with the
external trigger
and fired with the "top" one; (2) pulled through with
BOTH triggers -- "double action" --- i.e., like a "normal" Tranter
Double-Trigger AND (3) cocked with the thumb
and fired "normally". VERY UNUSUAL.
It took me 30+ years to get one, but I am moving this from my personal collection
as I have now got FOUR of them, 3 cased and this uncased duplicate. THIS one
is
in excellent condition except for faded blue. |

COLT M1856
REVOLVING RIFLE: .56", #4371: this is the RAREST
variation of the M1856 -- -(a) a MILITARY rifle rather than
a SPORTING rifle or shorgun; (b) the one for the SWORD bayonet,
rather than the common socket type -- -i.e., a bayonet bar
on
the front band. EXCELLENT BORE and fine condition
overall except that someone has removed many of the
markings (they forgot the one on the butt-plate!).
I WOULD PREFER TO SWAP THIS FOR SOMETHING "INTERESTING"
FOR MY OWN COLLECTION.
