MARCH MARYLAND ARMS COLLECTORS' SHOW "Cow Palace" at the Maryland Showgrounds, Timonium, Baltimore: Antique only -- and NO jerky / bumper stickers etc!
MARCH BISLEY ANTIQUE AND CLASSIC SHOW SOORY -- I will be elsewhere, buying Englich percussion revolvers for my personal collection --- a chance too good to miss!

SPRING BANK HOLIDAY

 "PHOENIX MEETING" BISLEY TRADE SHOW in the Pavilion FREE ENTRY Covers the whole gamut of target-shooting and collecting from musket to modern, with a number of external stands as well.

"IMPERIAL HISTORIC ARMS MEETING", Bisley FREE ENTRY In the "Umbrella Tent" on Maple Acre -- alongside one of the traditional Historic Arms Meetings: specialist dealers in Arms, Accessories, Books
AUGUST
"S.M.R.C. WEEKEND", Bisley (on LH end of Century Range) The Historic Arms part of the NSRA's August Rifle Meeting: as usual I will be giving a rifle as a Draw Prize for every Historic Entry and be there to take in "old rifles" from Clubs, etc.........
OCTOBER 22nd & 23rd 2011 TRAFALGAR MEETING, Bisley The biggest Historic Arms shoot --- be there!

SHOOTING

"S.M.R.C. MEETING" -- The Historic Arms part of the NSRA's August Rifle Meeting: 13th & 14th AUGUST 2011

This is one of the cheapest Meetings at Bisley --- Matches for
Vintage, Classic, Veteran and "Open Historic" Rifles --
           Rimfire AND Centre-Fire Gallery calibres --
                     Target, Sporting, Military and "Schutzen" classes --- (special award for Rook Rifles)
are contested in a friendly way by shooters in 3 Classes according to prowess. There are some Challenge Trophies, plus Place Certificates and Skilled Shot Certificates from the NRA, and each entry gets a free ticket for the draw for a Classic Rifle (donated by Classic Gun Co for the last 12 years).
Originally Prone and Standing (Offhand) at 50y, 2011 includes "Standing Rested" Matches -- a Victorian Tradition still shot in some parts of Germany and the USA, where the firer is allowed to rest the barrel / fore-end on a stepped rest. If anyone wants details of the "stepped rests", please contact me ---- they are easy to make and can be readily set up on any range. TRY IT!

 

I can e-mail you a Match-List and also an unfinished "Rules & Regs" document (missing mainly the target dimensions). We should not need the latter, as 98% of the entrants happily abide by the "SPIRIT OF THE ORIGINAL" concept but it is better to be safe than sorry.

VOLUNTEERS to assist with RO-ing and other functions would be most welcome -- allowing our decreasing band of long-term regulars to actually get some shooting in. Please contact me -- -thanks.
